What is it?

Tension & Trauma Release Exercises (or TRE®) is a body based somatic process that releases tension without having to verbally revisit a stressful story or traumatizing event. It consists of 7 simple movements that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension & trauma.

Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE® safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibration that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system, very similar to how animals regulate themselves & prevent trauma while living in the wild.

When this mechanism is activated in a safe & controlled environment, the body is naturally encouraged to return back to a state of balance, harmony & synchrony.
